Easy money
Go to Port Sarim, west of Draynor village, and ask one of the people in the blue uniforms to go to Karamja and pay them 30 GP. When you get there, walk off the dock and you should see a house. Enter the house and talk to a man named Luthas. He will ask you to pick bananas. Answer "Yes", pick bananas, put them in the crate, then talk to Luthas to collect your moderately earned 30 GP. If you would like more money in multiples of 30, ask him to get another 30 GP for doing the job again. Stay here for a long time if you need to spend several thousand on items.
Get your character's mining level up to level 38 by mining iron, etc. Then, go to the Barbarian Village and mine coal from the rocks, which you can sell for 100 to 300 GP per piece. You will also occasionally find a gem (from least valuable to most, sapphire, emerald, ruby, diamond) which can be sold for good prices.
Once you are at level 40 mining, add a person named yodoo86 to your list. He always buys coal. Mine coal and sell to him for 100 GP.
Get your smithing and mining levels up to 40 and mine gold in the Lessers Pits on Karajama Island. However, be careful of the level 21 skeletons. There are five rocks, so on a good night when no one is on, you can hit them in a row making your trip very easy. You can usually get 25 gold ore that becomes 25 gold bars. Put them into certs and sell for 1k a gold cert.
Mine and smith until you are at level 20 at both. Make Bronze Bars and turn them into things at an Anvil such as: a 2-H, Mail Plate Body, Skirt, or Kite Shield and sell them at the market for good prices. You can also do this with Mithril, Runite (not Rune), Adamantite, Iron, and Steel.
Go to the house outside of Lumbridge and collect Iron Daggers on World 13. Also, defeat Goblins for items that can be sold or gold, which is common. Sell the daggers for 14 gold or less at the market.
Enter "Moneybags" on your friends list. If you catch him while he is on, he will give 1 to 900,000 GP.
Silverlight
Go to Varrock and talk to the gypsy. She will explain the quest. To undrain the key in the pipe, which is part of the quest, use a bucket of water over the drain and head for the sewer.
Recommended quests
Do the Lost Ghost quest at the graveyard. If you finish this, you will get about 5 or 6 prayer points.
Prayer level up
Use the following trick to increase your prayer points. Gather bones off the floor and bury them to get experience in the Pray area. If you continue to do this, your Prayer points will be high enough to increase your strength or other stats. It is also good to put everything (including armor) you have in the bank. Then, go around picking up and burying bones when you cannot carry any more. There is a chicken farm near the starting point. Go northeast from the starting point to find the bridge. Cross the bridge and head north to find the chicken farm.

Combat levels, prayer levels, money, and good items
Get a Brass Key by any means necessary. You can find them far into the "dungeon/mines" of Edgeville. Go to the locked little house with a ladder leading down inside in between Varrok and the Barbarian Village. Use the Brass Key with the door providing access. Take the first turn to the left into a close room (with a gate) filled with giants (level 36). The giants give good experience, drop big bones (better for prayer than normal bones), money (up to 47 GP dropping at a time), and good items (steel and iron items, gems of all grades except for diamond, and all runes). Note: Bring a fly fishing rod and feathers to fish for some food when down there.
Survive in the Lava Chambers
Get to the point where you are able to fight Lesser Demons or level 54 Skeletons or Red Spiders. After defeating the Dragon, or at least using the secret door the first time from the Crandor side, get enough Fishing and Cooking to be able to catch and cook Lobster. Bring a Lobster Pot, a Tinderbox and a Hatchet (any type). Reach the island from Karamja (through the secret door). Fight your monsters, etc. When you run out of food, return through the secret door to Karamja and fish for Lobsters. Then, cut a tree for logs, set it on fire, and cook your Lobsters. This allows you to survive in the Lava Chambers under Crandor/Karamja Islands almost indefinitely. This is useful for leveling up against certain monsters and to also get a lot of one kind of item from a particular monster (such as Rune Mediums from Lesser Demons).
Easy "new" member levels!
First head over to Varrok! Go towards the east bank. Before you reach the bank, go down! Just above the Meuseum. There should be a building! Go inside and, there should be dummies! Attack them! You can only get up five levels with them!
Tree Trick
When your in the tutorial at the survival guide person, talk to her and she will give you an axe (after the bait and fishing net) you can then (during the tutorial that is) chop down oak trees which require level 15 woodcutting instead of just normal trees. Its not much but its pretty neat.

Walk through everything (test mode)
If you get stuck while in test mode, or you need to walk through any solid objects, simply hold the Ctrl key down and walk through it.
Change Variables/Switches In Test Play
While in Test Mode, by hitting the F9 Key, you will be able to access a debug menu that allows you to change switches from ON -> OFF or from OFF -> ON. It also allows you to change the value of any variable. This saves you the trouble of going in the game, and back out to change the commands.
Increase Text Message Speed
While in Test Play, at any time by holding the SHIFT Key, the text speed will be greatly increased. (This is useful if you are trying to skim through lengthy scenes).
Reducing Lag
You may notice that in events that have a lot of complex coding, or events that call others with complex coding, tend to lag when the game is played. This makes gameplay very annoying. To prevent this, insert a Wait of 0.0 seconds before and after the Call Event or group of complex coding. This will remove lag almost entirely. Making gameplay much more enjoyable.
Rome: Total War
Stand off
When you are outnumbered, have low forces, and know that you will lose, get a good stand off position by gathering all of your remaining forces, and go to a hill or the highest position if possible. If that is unavailable, go into the forests. Then, gather your forces and put all archers in the very back, all medium to close ranged missile weapons in middle, and all of your spearmen in the front with the legionnaires, swordsmen, etc. just behind. If you have elephants or horses, put them javelins. Then, with the spearmen formation, you can either wait for the enemy to hit the spearmen then charge with horses. However it would be better to horse charge them when they are in archer or javelin range, then keep bombarding them. Next, use all of your swordsmen to attack after the enemy hits the spearmen. Then, use all of your forces to charge, except for the archers. Move them away from the fight and keep bombarding. This is also a good choke point defensive maneuver.
Cheat Mode
Press ~ during game play to display the console window. Then, enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function:
Cheat Code - Effect
add_money 20000 - Increase money by 20,000
gamestop - 10% cheaper units in campaign mode
jericho - Walls fall down in siege in battle map mode
oliphaunt - 40% bigger elephants in campaign mode
Note: Gerry Edmonds notified us he had trouble with the money code. Be sure you are on the campaign map before pressing ~. And, do not forget the space between add_money and 20000. This money code can be performed once per game. After the first time, you must save, quit, and restart the game to use it again.
Blockades
If the Senate asks you blockade a port, you can go blockade it for the last turn and not have to do it for the entire five.
Defend your settlement
Use the following tactic to fight an outnumbered foe at your settlement. If you know that you cannot defend your walls because there is too much ground to cover and you forces will be to thin to stop them, then follow this strategy. Put all your armies in the central plaza of the city. According to their location, put your light infantry blocking the path of where they would go after the walls break through. Remember that you want to make a small chokepoint so that they can fight only one way and not surround you. Then, put your heavy infantry behind the light infantry and put your cavalry on the flanks so that you can attack them at the sides. When they attack and are charging at you infantry, order all the infantry (including heavy infantry) to charge. Then, have your cavalry cut the enemy's retreat and attack their flanks. If this is successful, their front and rear will be attacked, allowing you to crush them. Note: This cannot be done against human players.
Best Roman Legion
For an almost unfailable Roman Legion setup, use this. Spearmen (triarii) or light infantry (hastati) in the front lines (extended as far as possible but not too thin) these will absorb the enemy charge, Heavy infantry (pricepes) just behind they will throw their javelins and then join the fight, skirmishers (velites) behind to keep bombarding and to give temporary help if the battle goes amiss, archers (Roman archers) behind for the same reason as the skirmishers (NO FIRE ARROWS), if possible Light artillary (scorpions) behind to give more support (NO FIRE!), and heavy artillary (onagers) at the back (again NO FIRE) at the flanks have light Cavalry to intercept flankers, and behind them heavy cavalry to continuously charge pull back and again charge to crush the enemy and finally behind it all your general to give a morale boost. (Only EVER use your general if the situation is desparate or to chase down fleeing infantary to get experience) If chariots are present try to have velite gladiators atthe front, elephants should have been taken down by your artillary or if you have none, set arrows to flame to make them panic and run before they crush your perfect legion!
